Meet the LFT Lash Lift Shields: Your Guide to Curls, Sizes & Shield Selection

The right lash lift shield can completely change your finished result, but choosing a shield isn't simply a case of picking Small, Medium or Large.

At LFT, our lash lift shields have been designed to give lash artists greater control over both the shape of the lift and the fit for the natural lashes, with three different curl profiles and five sizes to choose from.

Meet the LFT C, D and L Lash Lift Shields, available in XS, S, M, L and XL.

So, what does it all mean  and where do you start?

Why Does Lash Lift Shield Choice Matter?

Your shield creates the shape that the natural lashes follow during a lash lift.

This means your choice can influence:

  • Root lift

  • Curvature

  • Lash direction

  • How much natural lash length is visible

  • Whether the finished result looks soft, rounded, dramatic or structured

The same shield won't create the perfect result on every client. Natural lash length, growth direction, eye and eyelid structure and your client's desired result should all form part of your decision. That's why LFT gives you options.

Understanding the LFT Lash Lift Shield Range

There are two parts to choosing your LFT shield:

Curl: C, D or L

This determines the profile and style of lift you want to create.

Size: XS, S, M, L or XL

This allows you to choose the appropriate fit for the client's natural lash length within your selected curl.

The order matters, at LFT we teach: Curl first. Size second. First decide what shape you want to create. Then choose the size that fits the lashes you're working with.

Meet the C Curl

Looking for something softer?

C Curl creates a smooth, sweeping curvature for a more natural and elongated finish.

It's a great option when you want to enhance the natural lashes while maintaining a softer appearance rather than creating an extremely pronounced curl.

Think: Soft. Sweeping. Natural.

Meet the D Curl

Want more impact?

D Curl creates a bolder, more pronounced curvature.

It can be used when you want a more noticeable, dramatic lash lift and can be useful when working with shorter or downward-pointing natural lashes where a more pronounced result is appropriate.

Think: Bold. Curved. Impactful.

Meet the L Curl

Want to focus on the root?

L Curl has a flatter base designed to create a strong, structured root lift before the lashes move into a sleeker shape.

It can be particularly useful when working with certain eye and eyelid structures, including hooded or deep-set eyes and monolids, depending on the client's individual lashes and desired result.

Think: Lifted. Structured. Sleek.

Then Choose Your Size

Once you've chosen between C, D and L, it's time to find the right fit.

Each LFT curl is available in: XS | S | M | L | XL

Having five sizes allows you to accommodate a wider range of natural lash lengths without changing the curl profile you've selected for your desired result.

This is an important distinction. You don't choose a smaller shield simply because you want a more dramatic result and you don't choose a larger shield simply because you want a softer lift.

Choose the curl for your desired shape. Choose the size for the natural lash length.

Why Do We Offer So Many Options?

Because lashes aren't one-size-fits-all.

One client may have short, downward-growing lashes and want a noticeable lift.

Another may have extremely long natural lashes and want to showcase their length with a softer result.

Another may benefit from a strong root lift that moves the lashes away from the eyelid before creating the finished shape.

Giving lash artists different curls and sizes provides more scope to tailor the treatment rather than trying to make one shield work for everyone.

It's Not About Having a Favourite Shield

As you become comfortable with lash lifting, it's easy to find a shield you love and start reaching for it again and again.

But your favourite shield isn't necessarily your client's best shield.

Before every treatment, assess:

  • Natural lash length

  • Natural growth direction

  • Eye and eyelid structure

  • The condition of the lashes

  • The client's desired result

Then make your selection.

Your shield should be chosen because it helps you achieve the result you've planned — not simply because it's the one you're most comfortable using.

What About Shield Placement and Lash Positioning?

Choosing the correct shield is only the beginning.

How the shield sits on the eyelid and how you position the natural lashes across it also contribute to your finished result.

Lashes should be carefully separated and positioned without crossing or twisting, paying particular attention to the shorter inner and outer lashes.

Think of the shield as giving you the framework for the shape. Your technique still matters.

The LFT Way: Curl First, Size Second

If there's one thing we want you to remember when choosing your LFT lash lift shields, it's this:

1. Choose your curl.

Decide whether C, D or L will best create the shape you're aiming for.

2. Choose your size.

Assess the natural lash length and select XS, S, M, L or XL within your chosen curl.

3. Perfect your placement.

Position the shield correctly and carefully direct the lashes across it ready for your lifting treatment.

Shield selection shouldn't be guesswork. It should be part of your treatment plan.

LFT Your Standard

The LFT Lash Lift Shield range gives you three curl profiles and five sizes to help you tailor your lash lift to the client in front of you.

C Curl for a softer, sweeping result.

D Curl for a bolder, more pronounced curvature.

L Curl for a strong, structured root lift.

Then choose from XS, S, M, L or XL to find the appropriate size for the natural lashes.

Curl first. Size second.

Because lash lifting isn't about creating one signature curl on everyone. It's about having the knowledge and the tools to create the result intentionally.
